Review: Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser

What is sensitive skin:

Sensitive skin is, from my experience, an irritable skin which reacts to almost everything. From sun lights to face creams, sensitive skin never fails to make you worried about what is going to happen next. Having a combination of oily and sensitive skin, it’s almost a challenge for me to find out the right skincare and makeup product. Picking the right skincare product is more important to me, than choosing tons of makeup. Because, after all, not matter how much makeup you put on, if you have lots of problems in skin, it doesn’t help much!

Anyways, so, while looking for a face cream on a budget, I ended up on Superdrug.com
Browsing through their many ranges of products, my eyes caught on the “Simple” skincare line. While reading about them, I found out, they make products especially for sensitive skin. So, I thought of giving their “Simple hydrating light moisturizer” a try.

So lets see what “Simple” claims about this moisturizer:

“our Hydrating Light Moisturizer is a perfect blend of multi-vitamins and skin-loving ingredients to keep your skin moisturized and pampered, and carries on working for 12 hours. Perfect for sensitive skin.”

Packaging :

The moisturizer comes in a 125ml white bottle, as you can see in the picture. Its not a jar packaging and the bottle color is not a transparent one, so the ingredients will not become inactive with the touch of sunlight or air. This is one of the reasons I chose this moisturizer. Also, the packaging is light so, you can carry it in your purse too! Yay !

My experience:

I ordered this moisturizer online on December and started using it from January. The moisturizer is a lightweight one, white in color, doesn’t have any fragrance. The moisturizer is not a runny one, neither thick.

I wash my face with a face wash suitable for acne-prone, oily skin, then, I take one pump from the bottle and apply it on my skin in an upward motion. While squeezing out the product from the bottle, all you need is a pea-size amount. So, it lasts a long time indeed (hey, Its mid-March and I’m still using it ). As January –February are drier months in Bangladesh, I used it both in morning and evening. The moisturizer instantly melts into the skin and keeps the skin hydrated. As oily skin too, takes a reverse turn in winter. So in the drier weather, this moisturizer served as a proper hydrating product for my skin without making it oily after few minutes/hours of application; unlike a lot of other moisturizers do to skin.

So, through January-March, it has so far performed really well. As I am a job holder and have to spend the daytime totally at my office, this moisturizer really helped me to keep my face hydrated and protected from the harsh weather. Now, its mid-March and summertime is coming, so I only use it as a daytime moisturizer, and don’t use it regularly in the evening. Waiting to see how it performs in hot and humid weather of Bangladesh.

Pros:

The concerns that should be focused upon while buying a moisturizer for sensitive and oily, acne prone skin are:

The moisturizer should be lightweight.

It should not contain any fragrance.

It should provide proper hydration while NOT making the skin oily.

The moisturizer comes with all the points mentioned above, so, those are the pros.

Cons: so far, in my 2 and half months of using, I haven’t found any con.

Will I repurchase? YES. Of course. Love this moisturizer !
